I
found this adorable wreath on, well what else, PINTEREST, and thought I
would give it a shot! During my lunch break I ran to Micheal's and
Joann's and got my supplies.
I
found this adorable wreath on, well what else, PINTEREST, and thought I
would give it a shot! During my lunch break I ran to Micheal's and
Joann's and got my supplies.Supplies-
Scissors
8" Metal Wreath (8" are the smaller ones)
8 squares of fabric
Ruler or sewing measuring tape (which is what I used)
A door wreath holder to hang it on your door and show your support!
GO HAWKS!!!
Extra- beads, football ribbons, words to add to the front
1.First we will start cutting the fabric. I began with one square. I folded it in half, measured out how 7" (length) and cut. Then I repeated that until the end of the fabric. {Note: My last cut wasn't quite 7" but that's okay! It will add some pizazz to have different lengths!} Then I cut my strips about 2" thick. {Again, I made some thicker to make it look a little craftier.}

Since it was 21" I was able to cut 3 7" pieces

This one I did a differently & the pieces were longer.

Progress!
2. Now that all the strips are cut, it is time to start tying. This project might be pretty easy, but it is fairly time consuming! I started tying by going around the wreath and tying them in equal spaces. I thought it would be easier for me to have them spread out that way. Once I did two times around of one fabric, I moved onto the next, rotating between the green and blue fabrics!
3. Once the wreath starts to get full, I just started tying on pieces where it looks a little thin or I could see a gap. Next time I try this project I will start on one end and move all the way around the wreath to make it equally thick. I think that might be easier.
4. Once I felt as if it was full enough, I turned it over and turned all the knots to the back and the fluffy loose pieces to the front to fill it out just a little more. And Tada! There is your finished wreath.
Extras-
(Will need a hot glue gun and whatever materials you wish to add!)
Adding some fun stuff!I added some paper roses, blue beads and a Seahawks emblem! I am so please with how it turned out!
